Can't remember if these are cable driven? Would be the obvious choice or the pickup/sender on the box

If the rev counter etc all work it wont be a fuse its more likley the VS Sensor has died on the gearbox.

They are about £80 from Ford unfortunately and a pain to get to.

It's screwed into the gearbox housing and there is a black plastic shaft which rotates in the gearbox proportional to the vehicle speed. The shaft is often the part that breaks.

Hi there,

Cheers for that Graham.

I dropped kev a text this morning and he thinks it could be just the car battery..ie a cell on the way out, and some electrics start to fail, as it happened to him also.

Cheers

Hi...yes me again!!

Was just looking at some forum posts about the VSS sensor and some people say it if its broken it can lead to the car stalling...well didnt really think about it too much, but the car did stall yesterday afternoon...but thought it was me!!

Any ideas?

Hi Bill....cheers for that mate!!

I have ordered myself a speedo sensor which will come anyday now, so hopefully this will fix my problem...failing that...will take a closer a look at that info you sent through.

Fingers crossed its just the speedo sensor!!
